Gary has over 20 years experience in the commercial, elite and community aspects of sport including programme and product development and management, commercial sponsorship and CSR and policy development. A Masters degree graduate of the University of Birmingham, Gary started his career leading a trail – blazing sport for development programme in London, before progressing to manage the national Positive Futures programme on behalf of the Home Office and Football Foundation where he oversaw a multi-million pound programme working across England and Wales and successfully guided the programme through two Government public spending reviews.
During his career Gary has worked with a number of international sports and retail brands to deliver CSR and sponsorship initiatives, worked with major clubs in England and Scotland to extend their reach internationally and provided consultancy support and advice to a range of athletes to improve their networks, commercial viability and public perception.
Since 2007 Gary has founded and led an internationally acclaimed sports charity, Active Communities Network, and has received and MBE for his work in the Sport for Development sector. Gary combines this role with his directorship at Tactic Connect.
